Giroud set to join MLS side in July
Olivier Giroud has joined LAFC in a permanent transfer from AC Milan, the MLS club announced on Friday. The 37-year-old French striker joins the Western Conference leaders on a free transfer and has signed a contract that will run through 2025 with an option to extend.
Giroud, who has been capped 131 times by France and is their all-time leading scorer with 57 goals, will join LAFC during the league's mid-season transfer window. He is expected to make his debut for the club in July.
Giroud has enjoyed a successful career in Europe, winning the Premier League title with Arsenal and the Serie A title with AC Milan. He also helped France win the World Cup in 2018.
LAFC is one of the most successful clubs in MLS, winning the Supporters' Shield in 2019 and the MLS Cup in 2022. The club is currently top of the Western Conference with a 7-2-1 record.
