Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly known as Tottenham or Spurs, is a professional football club in London, England. The club was founded in 1882 as Hotspur Football Club and became Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in 1884. The club is based at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in Tottenham, Greater London, which has a capacity of 62,850.
Tottenham have won two league titles, eight FA Cups, four League Cups, seven Charity Shields, one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, and two UEFA Cups. The club has also reached the final of the European Cup twice, in 1963 and 1974. Tottenham's traditional home kit is white shirts, navy blue shorts, and navy blue socks.
The club's most successful period was in the 1960s, when they won the league title twice, the FA Cup twice, and the League Cup once. The team was managed by Bill Nicholson and included players such as Jimmy Greaves, Dave Mackay, and Pat Jennings.
Tottenham have a long-standing rivalry with Arsenal, known as the North London derby. The two clubs are located just a few miles apart and have been competing for trophies since the late 19th century.
